Effective June 2, Speech-Language Pathologists may apply for supplier standing as a SPLPP (Speech-Language Pathologist in Private Practice) with Medicare. Applications may be submitted through your Medicare MAC or carrier using the “paper” 855 form or an electronic application through PECOS.
Prior to beginning the application process it will be necessary to have an NPI number (which takes about a day to obtain through the online process).
On June 4th the professional at SLPPrivatePractice.com will be presenting at the Louisiana Speech Language Hearing Association annual meeting in Lafayette, Louisiana. We will be doing a 3 hour workshop on how to start a private speech therapy practice, with a focus on the Medicare application. Nancy Beckley, President of Bloomingdale Consulting Group, and an experienced outpatient therapy consultant will be joined by Mel Cohen, Ph.D., MBA, CCC-SP and Sally Jones-McNamara, MCS, CCC-SP, CCE.
Check out their convention program at their website.
